Monika Krzyżanowska

Business Development Director

I am truly honoured to assume the role of a Director of the Board at EARSC. I believe my experience and background will help me effectively represent the interests of EARSC members. My intention is to work for the whole European remote sensing community while representing an SME company from Poland. As a Board member, I would like to help promote the needs and the views of Earth Observation downstream community towards European Agencies (EUSPA, ESA, Directorates), and to promote the need for dedicated, sector-oriented legislative tools. By representing a community of companies from the relatively new member countries, I wish to reach out to new members.

Monika graduated from the Faculty of Physics at the University of Warsaw, Poland, with a major in geophysics. She has many years of experience related to the professional electronics and space markets gained from international and Polish companies.

At CloudFerro, Monika is responsible for directing all sales pursuits and managing large offers related to the construction of archives for storing and sharing 'Big Data' and computing clouds based on open source technologies. The largest of the projects are Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem and Digital Earth Data Lake. Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem offers over 35PB (and aiming at 100PB) of the Copernicus Sentinel constellation data, and Digital Earth Data Lake is a cloud environment to store approx. 55 PB of data related to the modelling of Digital Twins of the Earth. Monika is also the co-author of many Horizon 2020 research and development projects in the area of Earth observation and cloud computing (e.g. AI4Copernics).
