Geospatial Innovation Competition

ESA Civil Security programmeESA Civil Security programme

CloudFerro invites all users of geospatial data to participate in a competition that aims to recognize best solutions and apps that provide value based on consolidation, processing and dissemination of spatial data using CloudFerro Cloud and CREODIAS platform services, tools and data.

The Geospatial Innovation competition aims to foster an ecosystem encompassing geospatial data producers, adopters, and end users on the CloudFerro Cloud. The competition is organised by CloudFerro, the operator of CREODIAS – a platform with easy access to Earth observation data and a cloud environment for processing the data.

The applications should integrate multiple collections of geospatial data, operate within environments hosted on CloudFerro Cloud, and use CloudFerro AI tools to create user-facing interfaces. Proposals should clearly define the specific areas they will impact, the manner of that impact, and the value they will provide. Additionally, they must identify and address the needs of a target user group—there is no preference regarding the user profiles; applications from end users, industry professionals, researchers, academics, and the broader society are all encouraged to take part. Participants should demonstrate a proven track record in practical or scientific endeavours.

The authors of the proposals selected by a jury will receive a comprehensive technical support package designed to assist in the development of geospatial applications. This package will include cloud computing resources tailored to the project's requirements, along with personalized mentoring and practical technical assistance. Successfully completed projects will be eligible for additional technical support packages for continued development or operational support.

All proposals must be submitted by May 31, 2025.
