CloudFerro with Economic Award of the Polish Ambassador to Germany

We are proud to share that CloudFerro has received the Economic Award of the Polish Ambassador to Germany for the best Polish company operating in Germany. The award was presented during the evening ceremony accompanying the “Polish-German Markets of the Future” conference organised by the Polish-German Chamber of Commerce AHK Polska.
The award confirms the significant contribution made by Polish companies to the development of Europe’s space and digital infrastructure. It also recognises CloudFerro’s long-standing cooperation with thousands of users in Germany, including representatives of public administration, the scientific community, analysts and innovators. CloudFerro aims to develop sovereign cloud services and digital data infrastructure so that organisations across Europe can move from data to action more quickly — in a secure, efficient manner and in compliance with national and EU regulations.
CloudFerro contracts in Germany
CloudFerro is responsible for the delivery and operation of cloud services for two key German Earth observation platforms: CODE-DE and EO-Lab. Both initiatives strengthen Germany’s and Europe’s capabilities in the use of satellite data and underpin numerous projects carried out by public administration bodies and research institutions, including in environmental protection, climate monitoring, spatial planning and the development of AI tools.
CODE-DE is a core element of Germany’s geoinformation strategy and the main national access point for satellite data from the Copernicus programme. This cloud infrastructure was created and is being further developed on behalf of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), acting for the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport, and is also integrated with the European CREODIAS platform provided by CloudFerro. CODE-DE primarily serves public administration in Germany and its partners. It offers one of the country’s largest collections of satellite data, provides easy-to-use tools for searching, viewing and analysing data, and delivers an environment for data processing. The platform operates in a German data centre powered by green energy and meets stringent security standards.
EO-Lab is a cloud platform for German research institutions and companies developing applications based on satellite data, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence. The project, delivered by CloudFerro on behalf of DLR for the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, supports the government’s AI strategy. It provides easy and efficient access to Earth observation missions such as Copernicus, TerraSAR-X and EnMAP, flexible computing resources with the latest graphics processing units, and ready-to-use tools for research and development projects. EO-Lab also offers access to advanced product search engines and enables collaboration within an active user environment — shared with CODE-DE — facilitating the practical transfer of research results. Numerous projects are carried out on the platform, including in the analysis of environmental change and AI-based image processing.
CloudFerro’s contribution to strengthening Europe’s digital sovereignty
For many years, CloudFerro has been building European capabilities in Earth observation by providing cloud computing services for the European Union’s largest initiatives, such as the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem and Destination Earth. Both programmes are of key importance to Europe’s data strategy: the former is the world’s largest repository of Earth observation data, offering free and immediate access to data for all interested users, while the latter aims to create a digital model of our planet, enabling the simulation and monitoring of natural phenomena with unprecedented accuracy.
