CloudFerro wins EARSC EO Company Award 2023
CloudFerro has been awarded EARSC EO Company Award at the EXPANDEO conference in Brussels, organized by the European Association of Remote Sensing Companies EARSC. The award acknowledges outstanding achievements and innovations in the Earth Observation services sector in Europe.
The EARSC Company Award is the first and longest-running award recognising companies that have made meaningful contribution to the development of the Earth Observation services sector in Europe, and have made excellent achievements in the areas of innovation, dynamic growth and the commitment to supporting European policies. This year, the winners were chosen by a Jury consisting of Antonella Calvia-Goetz from the European Investment Bank, Gordon Campbell from ESA, Guillaume-de-la-Brosse from DG DEFIS, Hamdi Kacem from the African Union Commission, and Stella Tkatchova from the European Innovation Council and Agency for SMEs.
The EARSC EO Company Award went to CloudFerro for its contribution to the development of Earth observation services in Europe, including revolutionizing the way satellite data is stored, processed, and accessed, and for significant contribution to building European technological sovereignty through the use and development of open source technologies in Earth observation services.
The jury recognised CloudFerro's leading role in the development of the largest European initiatives in Earth Observation, such as the construction and operation of the world's largest EO data repositories for European initiatives such as Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem and Digital Earth Data Lake. CloudFerro has also been acknowledged for demonstrating excellence and innovation, setting new industry standards. The award proves the strong position of the company on the EO market. CloudFerro is the prime contractor of cloud computing solutions for leading European institutions processing large data sets, including the European Space Agency (ESA), the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), the he European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT), and the German Aerospace Agency (DLR).
The EARSC EO Company Award is a prestigious distinction awarded to companies registered in the Member States of the European Union. Winners are nominated and selected by EARSC members and an independent international jury of experts. It is worth noting that the Polish company has defeated such significant competitors as the French Airbus or the Spanish GMV.

EXPANDEO 2023 is an annual event where representatives of the downstream segment of the European space industry, user communities and institutions meet to discuss the current and future challenges of the Earth observation sector in Europe. This year's edition attracted a record number of participants - 485 people online and 177 in person.
