Metadata management and distribution
CloudFerro is providing the Cloud with easy access to Earth Observation data.
Our EODATA collection comes from several data sources provided by ESA, EUMETSAT, and other sources.

In order to manage multipetabytes of various products from different data sources, each product has metadata suitable for indexing (properly defined spatial and temporal information) that are referenced from the data catalog (RESTO). The metadata can be accessed through our UI (EO Finder) or compatible data search tool – OpenSearch API. The OpenSearch queries local data catalog but it may also act as a proxy to external EO-data search engines that enable product ordering.
In addition, EO Data in our Cloud can be accessed using a complete set of interfaces. Raw data is stored on the platform in its native format to ensure 100% conformity to the source data. It can be accessed directly through a standard HTTP SWIFT/S3 object interface.
Legacy applications, virtual machines, or interactive users can access the same data through a POSIX standard filesystem interface, which eliminates the necessity of data downloads and is the most convenient access mode for legacy applications.
Data stored in the repository can also be dynamically accessed via user-configurable OGC WMS/WMTS/WCS web services provided by the SentinelHub component, providing virtual datacube functionality for selected datasets stored in our Cloud environment.
The products can be presented (and viewed) in the view service (WMS interface) as long as they are in a format suitable for automated indexing and have complete metadata.
