Due to our dynamic development, we are looking to join our team a:
Senior System & Database Engineer
What will be your tasks?
- Configuration and administrative care of Linux systems, particularly database systems;
- monitoring database performance and optimising SQL queries and data structures,
- ensuring high availability (HA) and fault tolerance (DR) of database systems,
- troubleshooting and technical support for the development and operations teams,
- creating and updating technical documentation and operational procedures,
- writing scripts to standardise and automate routine administrative work,
- implementing and maintaining Linux system environments, Proxmox virtualisation environments, PostgreSQL (patrons) and MySQL (galley) database environments.
We are expecting from you:
- Understanding of the architecture of and experience with Linux operating systems administration,
- knowledge of configuration management tools (Ansible),
- experience in analysing the performance of database servers, structures, queries and their optimisation,
- in-depth understanding of database replication and high availability mechanisms,
- experience with database table partitioning, including knowledge of partitioning techniques (e.g. horizontal and vertical partitioning) and partition management strategies,
- ability to create and manage optimised indexes in databases, including multi-column, unique and full-text indexes,
- knowledge of caching and cache management mechanisms in databases experience in migrations and knowledge of techniques to minimise downtime during migrations,
- a working knowledge of database performance monitoring and analysis tools (Prometheus, Zabbix, Percona Monitoring and Management, pgbadger),
- programming skills: Bash/Python,
- comfortable communicating in English.
An additional advantage will be:
- experience in administration with tools such as milvus or scylladb,
- Storage (ceph),
- OpenStack,
- experience of working with ELK.
