CloudFerro is a provider of cloud data processing services. It provides and supports cloud computing for specialized markets, including the European space industry, climate research and science.
It has extensive experience in storing and processing large data sets, including multi-petabyte Earth observation satellite data repositories. CloudFerro solutions are used by leading companies and scientific institutions in Europe from various market sectors that process large data sets: European Space Agency (ESA), EUMETSAT, European Center for Medium-Range Forecasts (ECMWF), Mercator Ocean International, German Aerospace Agency (DLR), EGI and many others.
Due to our dynamic development, we are looking to join our team a:
Storage Manager
What will be your tasks?
- Being a leader for our Storage team (currently 8 people), creating and maintaining environments for multi-petabyte satellite data repositories maintaining an up-to-date team roadmap;
- coordinating the team's work and ensuring its effectiveness,
- monitoring the implementation of long- and short-term goals by the team,
- taking care of the team - its competences, motivation and commitment,
- team support in solving problems,
- recruitment of new colleagues,
- collecting requirements from Stakeholders regarding project implementation and product development,
- consultation and support in sales processes,
- building a culture of sharing knowledge and experience,
- cooperation and communication with a wide range of stakeholders: management board, business, product owners of other teams, project managers;
- coordination of cooperation with parallel teams.
We expect from you:
- higher technical education and at least 5 years of experience in system administration, including at least 2 years as a manager/team leader;
- knowledge of issues related to the architecture of scalable distributed systems, knowledge of the Ceph platform or similar is welcome;
- knowledge of Linux,
- ability to communicate with a wide range of colleagues,
- goal orientation and responsibility for team tasks,
- quick decision making,
- ability to motivate, provide feedback, and develop team competencies;
- fluency in English (level B2/C1).
The team's technology stack:
- Ceph, Ansible, Git, OpenStack, Prometheus, Nginx, ELK, Docker, Linux, Bash, Nginx, Haproxy, Python, C++, Proxmox.
