It has extensive experience in storing and processing large data sets, including multi-petabyte Earth observation satellite data repositories. CloudFerro solutions are used by leading companies and scientific institutions in Europe from various market sectors that process large data sets: European Space Agency (ESA), EUMETSAT, European Center for Medium-Range Forecasts (ECMWF), Mercator Ocean International, German Aerospace Agency (DLR), EGI and many others.

Due to our dynamic development, we are looking to join our team a:

R&D Lead

What will be your tasks?

Building and managing a research and development team of several people carrying out projects in satellite data processing and cloud technologies for major European institutions related to the space industry
designing distributed Big Data processing systems,
coordination of cooperation with universities,
writing specifications and technical offers,
liaising with clients and internal stakeholders.

We expect from you:

an academic statement in the field of IT - doctorate or scientific activity,
understanding of the specificities of commercial projects,
experience in managing a team or leading projects,
a genuine personal interest in a variety of IT and/or space technologies;
an interest in OpenSource projects,
excellent written and oral communication skills,
entrepreneurial and creative thinking,
very good knowledge of the English language.

An additional advantage will be:

own entrepreneurial / start-up experience.

The team's technology stack:

OpenStack, Ceph, Python, Kubernetes, C++, Go, RabbitMQ, REDIS, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Prometheus, Linux, Docker.
