We are currently looking for an Engineer with practical, production-level experience in OpenStack, who is comfortable working in large cloud environments and can diagnose and solve complex infrastructure issues. We are looking for a mid/senior-level specialist with experience in maintaining, upgrading and tuning OpenStack, knowledge of automation and monitoring tools, and strong confidence in working with Linux and IaC.

What will your responsibilities include?

  • Designing, developing, testing and tuning cloud environments, including creating new functionalities, for clients around the world.
  • Solving the most complex system-related issues, including zero-day problems.
  • Standardising and automating infrastructure.
  • Developing system best practices.
  • Collaborating with SysAdmins and Development teams on the configuration, administration and maintenance of systems and networks.

Technologies we use:

  • OpenStack, including OVN and OVS, Ceph, Kubernetes, Linux, Cumulus Linux, Terraform, Docker, Ansible, Git, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Nginx, Prometheus, Zabbix, Apache, Grafana, Redis, RabbitMQ, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and programming languages: Python, C, C++, Golang and Bash.

Requirements:

  • In-depth, production-level knowledge of OpenStack, including various deployment and upgrade methods.
  • Experience in administering Linux operating systems, including Python and Shell.
  • Knowledge of IaC tools, such as Ansible, Git, Terraform and Kolla/Kolla-Ansible.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills.
  • Fluency in English communication.

Additional advantages:

  • Practical experience in building Software Defined Data Centers, including Bare Metal provisioning.
  • Knowledge of SDN, such as Contrail/Tungsten Fabric, supported by implementation or maintenance experience.
  • Experience in developing OpenStack services, supported by upstream commits, including writing high-quality code, collaborating with the community, and understanding the lifecycle, tools and related processes.
  • Experience in building and maintaining large-scale OpenStack clouds, with at least several hundred compute nodes.
  • Ability to scale and tune OpenStack or Ceph across multiple dimensions.
  • Experience working with MySQL/PostgreSQL databases, including high availability and replication techniques.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
