We are currently looking for a manager who can combine a strong understanding of cloud and infrastructure technologies with responsibility for effective project delivery, operational stability, and team development. 

In this role, you will lead the Cloud Projects & Operations team, which is responsible for delivering customer projects and maintaining CloudFerro’s cloud infrastructure in continuous operation, including a rotating 24/365 on‑call duty. 

You will work with a large‑scale, production cloud environment used by commercial and institutional clients, as well as international European projects, including those delivered for the European Space Agency. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Managing the Cloud Projects & Operations team and supporting it in day‑to‑day operational and project work. 
  • Taking responsibility for effective delivery of projects, maintenance initiatives, and roadmap‑driven activities. 
  • Collaborating with the IaaS Product Manager on maintaining and updating the team’s roadmap. 
  • Prioritising tasks, managing dependencies, and ensuring predictability of delivery.Monitoring the achievement of short‑ and long‑term goals. 
  • Ensuring operational service quality, including stability, monitoring, incident handling, and elimination of recurring issues. 
  • Supporting the incident management and problem management processes, including RCA/post‑mortem analysis and implementation of preventive actions. 
  • Assisting the team in analysing complex technical and organisational issues. 
  • Developing team competencies, conducting 1:1 meetings, providing feedback, and strengthening ownership. 
  • Planning roles, coverage, and competency development within the team. 
  • Recruiting new employees and contractors. 
  • Gathering and structuring requirements from stakeholders related to projects and maintenance activities. 
  • Collaborating with Product Management, PMO, technical teams, sales, business stakeholders, and the Executive Board. 
  • Supporting sales processes through technical and operational consultations. 
  • Building a culture of knowledge sharing, documentation, and continuous improvement within the team. 

Team technology stack: 

  • OpenStack, Linux, Ceph, Ansible, Terraform, Git, Prometheus/Grafana/ELK, Docker, Bash, Proxmox, Keycloak.  

What we are looking for: 

  • Experience in managing a technical team, preferably in infrastructure, cloud, platform, or operations. 
  • Strong understanding of maintaining production IT systems and working in high‑availability environments. 
  • Solid understanding of cloud technologies, distributed systems, and infrastructure as the foundation of production services. 
  • Ability to combine technical, project, and business perspectives. 
  • Experience in task prioritisation, dependency management, and delivering team objectives. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholder groups, from engineers to the Executive Board. 
  • Managerial maturity: motivating people, providing feedback, developing competencies, and making difficult decisions. 
  • Experience in building team autonomy, ownership of areas, and effective cross‑team collaboration. 
  • Accountability for the quality of the team’s work and readiness to operate under time pressure. 
  • Confident communication in English at B2/C1 level. 

An additional advantage will be: 

  • Experience with OpenStack, Ceph, Linux, Ansible, Terraform, Prometheus/Grafana/ELK or a similar infrastructure stack.  
  • Knowledge of incident management, problem management, SRE or ITIL practices.  
  • Experience in cloud, hosting, data center environments or large‑scale production infrastructure.  
  • Experience working with external customers or projects with high availability and service quality requirements.
