CloudFerro is a provider of cloud data processing services. It provides and supports cloud computing for specialized markets, including the European space industry, climate research and science.
It has extensive experience in storing and processing large data sets, including multi-petabyte Earth observation satellite data repositories. CloudFerro solutions are used by leading companies and scientific institutions in Europe from various market sectors that process large data sets: European Space Agency (ESA), EUMETSAT, European Center for Medium-Range Forecasts (ECMWF), Mercator Ocean International, German Aerospace Agency (DLR), EGI and many others.
We are looking for trainees to join our team as a :
Data Science (Python) trainee
What will your daily tasks look like?
- Preparation of use cases using spatial data embeddings,
- development and processing of OpenStreetMap (OSM) data for analytical purposes (e.g. cycling infrastructure, communication, tourism),
- creation of Jupyter Notebooks presenting analysis of OSM data as a demo for the CREODIAS website,
- preparation of QGIS resources for the company's GitHub repository
- creation and styling of vector layers in QGIS, including layers downloaded from our servers,
- support in the preparation of STAC metadata templates for CLMS and Landsat products.
What do we expect from you?
- student or graduate in geoinformatics, geodesy, cartography (or related disciplines),
- good knowledge of satellite data and the principles of their processing,
- very good knowledge of QGIS and the Jupyter Notebook environment,
- ability to program in Python,
- Independence, initiative and willingness to learn new tools and approaches.
