PostgreSQL as a Service

Description

PostgreSQL as a Service is a cloud-based, fully managed PostgreSQL solution. Each instance is hosted on dedicated virtual machines with scalable storage, offering high availability and removing hardware management requirements. Database setup, scaling, and administrative tasks are managed through a ticketing system, streamlining operations. Resources such as computing power and storage are easily scalable to adapt to changing demands. The service includes advanced security features, continuous monitoring for performance optimization, and an integrated backup process.

Limitations

Each PostgreSQL instance is restricted to a single cloud project. Database availability depends on the project configuration, so users should avoid altering project settings to prevent connectivity or performance issues. By default, databases run on network storage, with an option for local storage. Users should understand the implications of using local storage. These services count against the user's quota, and careful planning is advised as part of capacity management.

SLA with a single database node is limited to 8 hours NBD.

SLA for redundant configurations aligns with the standard cloud service SLA.

Cost

Billing is based solely on infrastructure usage, including virtual machines (master and worker nodes) and storage for both operations and backups. Costs are calculated at three times the base price of the underlying hardware. Example costs for a database node on the WAW3-2 cloud are available upon request.

Management cost

All standard DB management costs operation are included in fea above. Those feas don’t cover helping clients with storing and managing data but only DB operations. Those costs cover setting up standard process like database backup.

IAAS cost

The user is billed solely based on infrastructure usage, including virtual machines (master nodes, worker nodes) and storage used for both database operations and backup solutions. Billing is calculated at three times the cost of the underlying infrastructure.
